Most of us are unfamiliar with the idea that our daily lives are highly dependent on sand. Equally, most of us are unaware of the idea that sand is running out. In a unique effort to educate and raise awareness around the untold narrative of the granular material, I helped Post-Neon build a website that promotes their immersive VR campaign, from its outline to tone-of-voice.

Idea.

As a traveling exhibition piece, educating an international audience about the depletion of sand as a finite resource, this project needed a website to spread its message and inform prospective audiences. Very much like a movie needs a descriptive text detailing its storyline, a Last Grain of Sand needed some background whilst incorporating a section that allows visitors to buy their own, one-of-a-kind virtual sand grain to help these buyers spread the word about sand depletion.
